Uma divertida ou não comédia romântica… To love-Ru é um mangá de autoria de Saki Hasemi e Kentaro Yabuki e foi publicado nas páginas da revista Shonen Jump de 2006 a 2009 e rendeu, ao todo, 18 volumes encadernados. Posteriormente, a história ganhou uma continuação na revista Jump SQ, intitulada To love-Ru Darkness, e está em publicação até hoje. Em meados deste ano, a editora JBC anunciou a publicação da “primeira parte” da história e seu primeiro dos dezoito volumes previstos foi lançado no mês de novembro. O título foi publicado pelo selo Ink Comics, sob os cuidados de Marcelo del Greco. Como é o título e como ficou a edição nacional você confere agora I To love-Ru é chamado pelos fãs como o melhor mangá ecchi da atualidade e só esse dado já coloca um certo preconceito na cabeça de muitas pessoas que não conhecem a obra e costumam passar longe de títulos desse gênero. Uma pequena folheada na banca e ver uma garota nua já serve para corroborar mais ainda o preconceito. Entretanto essa característica é uma das menos importantes da obra, ao menos nesse primeiro volume. Em To love-Ru acompanhamos a história de Rito Yuuki e de seu amor platônico por sua colega de classe Haruna Sairenji. Rito busca incessantemente se declarar a ela, mas por medo ou infortúnio ele não consegue concretizar o seu desejo. E no meio disso aparece Lala! Lala é uma alienígena filha do rei de Deviluke – praticamente o comandante de toda a galáxia – e está fugindo de seu “país” para não precisar se casar com os pretendentes arranjados por seu pai e nem herdar o trono. E nessa fuga Lala se teletransporta e acaba parando justamente na banheira em que Rito tomava banho. A partir daí uma série de acontecimentos, mal entendidos e bem entendidos também começam a acontecer com Rito e a história do mangá se desenvolve. O amor dele por Haruna que parecia ser meramente platônico mostra-se recíproco, mas a presença de Lala acaba por ocasionar muitos problemas e ele não consegue se declarar a ela, e nem ela consegue perceber que ele gosta dela. Nesse ínterim, Lala acaba se apaixonando por Rito e deseja casar-se com ele. O rei de Deviluke – pai de Lala – acaba por aceitar o casamento dos dois, desde que ele proteja a garota e impeça que os demais pretendentes da princesa a raptem. Para piorar a situação inusitada de Rito, o pai de Lala diz que se ele não proteger a princesa, ele e a terra inteira serão destruídos… No fim do volume já aparece um desses pretendentes e Rito é posto frente a uma importante decisão. Como se desenvolverá a trama? As lutas torna-se-ão constantes? E o triângulo amoroso envolvendo o rapaz irá se desfazer ou ficará mais forte ainda? Essas são cenas para os próximos volumes… II To love-ru é um mangá de comédia. Uma parte comédia romântica, outra parte comédia ecchi e mais uma parte de comédia non sense. Além de ter uma dose muito pequena de ficção científica. Nessa mistura toda, seus personagens acabam por ser genéricos demais e não é difícil imaginar eles em outros mangás. Rito lembra um pouco o Youta de Video Girl Ai e de Junta Momonari, de DNA² – dois mangás de Masakazu Katsura que foram publicado na shonen jump – por ser um tanto quanto atrapalhado e se envolver em confusões “sem querer”. Rito, na verdade, lembra demais muitos outros protagonistas de obras da Jump e de mangás em geral, com aquela determinação de ajudar alguém apuros, por exemplo. Isso não é ruim de todo. Afinal já vimos muitas vezes personagens que pareciam genéricos se transformarem em excelentes protagonistas. O que é importante destacar é que, no volume 1, Rito não mostrou a que veio ainda. Ele é só mais do mesmo entre diversos outros protagonistas de diversas outras séries. Já Haruna é uma personagem que não tem personalidade própria. Ainda não sabemos nada dela, seus padrões de comportamento, seus desejos. A única coisa que descobrimos é que ela parece gostar de Rito. E isso é pouco demais para uma das personagens que parecem ser do elenco principal. Já Lala teve grande destaque e parece ser a grande musa que uma grande parte dos fãs do mangá admiram. Porém, ela também não escapa do seu traço genérico, com uma personalidade um tanto quanto avoada e sem grandes preocupações, como também já vimos muitas e muitas vezes. Quem não lembra da Rioko de Tenchi Muyo? III Então To love-Ru é um mangá ruim? Nunca dissemos isso. To love-Ru é bem divertido de acompanhar e foi uma leitura muito interessante. Em alguns momentos sentimos algum desconforto por causa do clima nonsense, mas fora isso a obra é bastante aprazível. Comparando com Savana Game e Bullet Armors – dois mangás do selo Ink muito diferentes entre si – To love-Ru é de longe o melhor deles. Embora apresente uma história bastante convencional, com personagens genéricos, esse mangá consegue fazer bem a sua função de entreter e, no final das contas, é isso o que importa. IV A edição nacional está no nível básico. A obra tem o formato 13,5 x 20,5 cm e custa R$ 13,50, com periodicidade mensal. O mangá possui capas internas coloridas e miolo em papel jornal. Hearing my male peers talk about it as if it was an extremely great work was both creepy and disappointing as I saw their attitudes change in a way that objectified others. Its really just that I don't hate nor like it FUCKING TRASH Why everyone says that it ended? There are some comments that even say "why it ended" which were posted after the sequel that sequel is a proper sequel, by the same author and artist. Just that sequel is in seinen magazine instead of shounen, but I actually liked sequel a lot. So check it out before saying that ending is too just can't have that continuation in shounen magazine... WHY, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO END THIS!? Put short I loved this manga. I found this manga on the day it's last chapter was translated on OM. Its a great read with some plot elements I wouldn't have seen coming in a few years and hella ecchi stuff Sadly it had possibly the least satisfying ending I've ever seen, then again don't all harems? Oh well try it out I don't know about the divorce thing until I read you guys' comment about it. well, if it's the case, then it makes sense why this series' ending is so bad. It should continue for some more longer than only 18 art is just perfect as it is moe and ecchi. The story doesn't require much thinking. you can laugh all the way as the story progress randomly. laughing while sexually excited maybe for some readers that still can't stand the high rate ecchi of this series. You who care so much about a plot, can't stand the high rate ecchi, can't stand the pathetic main protagonist, or simply a girl doesn't have to be bothered to start reading still love Yabuki-sensei drawing and looking forward for his Mayoi Neko Overrun next chapter. and for justice it's 10/10.
